The Taksim struggle stands in the lead of innumerable conflicts going on now throughout the world to protect the common against privatization. As an idea and as a policy, it seems to me, neoliberalism is dead, but maybe really it's undead. It keeps attacking like a zombie, brainless but more aggressive and relentless than ever. We need to protect the common spaces that remain, which are shared and open for social cooperation and creativity. Activists everywhere are looking to Taksim for inspiration.
